Product & Bid Management
The bid process is one of the most critical parts of a project and has a profound effect on:
- The ability to win the business
- The ability to deliver the project on time & on budget
- The profitability of the project.
There is little time in which to pull together and evaluate all the options for the consortium of partners that will comprise the bid, and the product and development options. Plexus is the only tool that is able to pull together all the relevant data in a visual presentation that enables decisions to be made more easily and with less risk.
Understanding the scope of the bid
Work with the client to assemble the to-do list - the BOM of parts, services, and infrastructure that must be made or procured. This is a form of right to left planning, with all the data put into Plexus.
Supplier selection & supply chain preliminary design & analysis
Use Plexus to rapidly draw a parametric model of the bid’s supply chain so that different approaches and partnerships, and their risks, can be evaluated and the model can be rapidly adapted as the client evolves his requirements. Also to market the positive impact on the client’s industrial base if it is a nation state (e.g. offset countertrade and technology transfer).
Project implementation, resources, costs, delivery
Each instance of the product that will be manufactured has its own BOM and production system to produce it. A particular advantage of Plexus, is that it takes this flow and replicates it many times. It uses delivery dates to harmonize each instance’s schedule and can then forecast resource profiles and costs for different delivery schedules so as to guide negotiations with the client and plan capacity etc
